PRIVACY

Privacy, plainly.

No ads, no social pixels, no selling your data. We use Google Analytics to count visits, and the only personal data we ask you for is what you type into the interest form.

The short version: this site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It runs no advertising, loads no social pixels, and does not sell your data. The only personal data the project asks you for is what you type into the interest form.

What this site collects

  • Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and links get used. It sets two cookies on your device and sends the visit to Google. The details, and how to opt out, are under Analytics, in full.
  • Two local preferences. Your chosen colour theme and reading register are stored in your browser’s localStorage so the site remembers them. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.
  • Standard server logs. Like any website, our host may keep standard access logs (IP address, browser, requested page) for security and operations. They are not used to build profiles.
  • The interest form. The First 500 form opens on Google Forms and collects the fields shown on the form. Do not enter anything you would not want the project to hold. Google processes the form for us under its own terms; we receive the answers.

Analytics, in full

We use Google Analytics 4 to learn how many people read the site and which pages and links get used. We look at counts and trends, not a list of who read what. We never send Google Analytics your name, email or interest-form answers, and we do not use it to identify you or to follow you around the web.

When you load a page, Google Analytics records:

  • the pages you view, and the site or search that sent you here;
  • interactions such as scrolls, clicks and outbound-link clicks;
  • an approximate location worked out from your IP address, at roughly city level. Google Analytics does not store your IP address;
  • the device, browser, operating system and language your browser reports;
  • a random identifier kept in a cookie, so the site can tell a returning browser from a new one.

Two first-party cookies do this, both set on aequitasupgrade.com: _ga and _ga_G-YMTGRDCFKS. Their typical lifetime is two years each — Google’s default, not a guarantee; your browser may refuse or clear them sooner.

Google LLC handles this data for us under the Google Analytics terms. We have not enabled Google Signals, advertising features or remarketing, and we do not sell this data or hand it to advertisers or political parties.

Google keeps event-level analytics data for the retention period configured in our Analytics property (GA4 offers 2 or 14 months), then deletes it.

What we do with it

Interest-list answers are used to contact you about the First 500 and the project’s progress. We do not sell them, rent them, publish them or share them with political parties or advertisers. If the project ever needs a different use, it will ask first.

The site says the project publishes its donor list. That commitment applies to donations, and donations are separate from the interest list. Joining the interest list does not make you a donor and does not put your name on a public list.

Analytics is used only to understand readership — which pages are read and which links are used — and is not joined to your interest-list answers.

How long we keep it

We keep interest-list entries while the list is active. You can ask for your entry to be removed at any time by emailing aequitasupgrade@gmail.com, or by replying to any message from the project and asking to be removed.

Analytics data is kept by Google for the period described under Analytics, in full.

Your choices

  • You can use this site without submitting anything. No form is required to read the Constitution or the Manifesto.
  • You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s official opt-out browser add-on.
  • You can block or delete cookies for aequitasupgrade.com in your browser settings. That stops the analytics and the site still works. Clearing site data also resets your theme and reading preferences.
  • You can withdraw from the interest list at any time.

External links

Links to X, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Google Forms open services with their own privacy policies. We do not embed those posts or load their scripts when you read these pages. The one Google script this site does load is Google Analytics, described under Analytics, in full.

Children

The interest list is intended for adults. If you are under 18, please do not submit the form.

Add your name to the draw.

We're convening a Shadow Congress of 500 randomly selected Americans. Enter the interest list — three fields, no fee, no party. If the lot falls on you, we train you, pay you, and film the whole thing.

The form opens on Google Forms. We never sell your data, and we publish our donor list — because the first law binds us first.
