Boilerplate
The American Upgrade is a volunteer, human-run project proposing Aequitas: a complete draft constitution built on three planks — politics by lot, a ceiling on wealth, and rights that cannot be bought. The full text, its plain-language reading, and the record of its audits and corrections are published in public at https://aequitasupgrade.com.

Fact sheet
- What it is: a complete draft constitution, not law, not a party, not a candidacy.
- Length: 14 articles, 83 sections, with an 84-block plain-language reading.
- Legislature: a 300-citizen Policy Council (proposers) and a 500-citizen Citizen Jury (deciders), selected by stratified random sampling, with six months of training and no re-election.
- Executive: a High Council selected by lot; there are no elections.
- Judiciary: a Tribunal of Oversight whose Judges are drawn by lot from a verified pool, serve one non-renewable 15-year term, and whose size is fixed by law on the Tribunal's recommendation, must be odd, and can change only within stated safeguards.
- Wealth: a ceiling at 100× median income, with surplus above it returned as a social dividend; pre-Founding wealth is reconciled over ten years.
- Rights: entrenched rights, a non-derogable core, Rights of Nature, and an Enduring Core that even a supermajority cannot amend away.
- Emergency: a dual-key declaration, a 24-hour first-responder failsafe, and a non-derogable core that survives war, plague, rebellion and ecological emergency.
- Status: draft; not yet law. Audited three times, externally reviewed in October 2026; findings applied or declined with reasons.
- AI: AI-assisted drafting and editing, human decisions and responsibility, fully disclosed.
Using the brand
- You may use the emblem and cards to refer to the project, its text and its arguments.
- Do not alter the emblem, recolor it, or combine it with other marks in a way that implies endorsement.
- Do not present the project as a party, a campaign, or the government of any country. The text is a draft.
- When quoting, cite the article and section, and link the full text.
